OS X Bottom & Left Edge pixels flickering
#76
Hello,

Tried both builds(version for x86_64), one from nightly repository and the other from jingai, and still show, in my case, two white lines at the right and bottom of the screen.

What is the vendor string in your log? You said earlier you've got an nvidia chipset, which probably needs to be added to the conditional code that fixes the green line.

edit: Apologies for the lack of context -- thought I was in this thread (was replying on my phone). In your xbmc.log, we need the render vender string, one like this:

Code:
21:46:38 T:140735186063744  NOTICE: GL_VENDOR = Intel Inc.
21:46:38 T:140735186063744  NOTICE: GL_RENDERER = Intel HD Graphics 3000 OpenGL Engine

We also need some people with ATI GPUs to post their vendor string.

Hello,

My two strings are:

Code:
21:38:14 T:140735218696576  NOTICE: GL_VENDOR = NVIDIA Corporation
21:38:14 T:140735218696576  NOTICE: GL_RENDERER = NVIDIA GeForce 320M OpenGL Engine
21:38:14 T:140735218696576  NOTICE: GL_VERSION = 2.1 NVIDIA-8.0.61

I see davilla made another commit that looks like it should finally fix this, and it's included in last night's build.

I'm at work so I haven't yet tested it, but it's worth giving a shot for those still seeing the issue(s).

Tried it,

Same behavior, white lines all over the screen on the right and on the bottom.

I tried the last nightly build "xbmc-20130214-c7d89b0-master-x86_64.dmg" on my late 2012 Mac mini with Intel HD 4000 GPU and I have no more green lines at the bottom. So for me it works.

Thanks!

You might be having a different issue.. mind posting a screenshot of what you are seeing?

I tried to take a screenshot but all that I took don't have the lines. How could I help more? The lines are , sometimes, with a intense flickering and others less intense but still there on the screen. if pause the video the line flickering stops but on resume come back again.

I was asking specifically because you said "lines all over on the right and on the bottom", as opposed to saying it was a single line on the bottom and on the right.

Sorry it was my bad, what i was trying to say is as you said" ....as opposed to saying it was a single line on the bottom and on the right." Despite that, what can be done to fix this bug?

Not sure. But try posting your render vendor over here in case davilla missed this thread.

I used the build from the 14th and the green/white lines are now gone. Also seems to have fixed the sound issues too!!

Unfortunately for Mac Mini 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6630M this build didn't fix the issue at all, I am seeing that Frodo 12 will not fulfil the VDA hardware decode.
