New address for media, how do I change via SFTP?
#1
Hello,

I recently changed my network and my media server now has a new IP address. How do I go about changing all of the references to media within my 3 apple-tvs? I know that I was able to do this before by editing a file, but can't find the old post. Can somone tell me the path and filename that I need to edit so that I can update the paths without having to readd all my media from a new location? Thanks in advance!

I think you're referring to: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Use...ources.xml

There is a way to adjust the (shared) library to use the new paths in the wiki:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW...s_In_MySQL

That should cover it, right?

The methods mentioned in the MySQL page should work. However, if you can, see if you can just get the old IP staticly assigned to your server via the router's settings, so you don't have to keep doing this.

Thanks...it was userdata/sources.xml that I was looking for. My whole subnet changed on my network so I have statically assigned a new IP to the media server, but unfortunately its in a different subnet, so I have to change the media references.

There is a sqllite tool you can use to modify the paths in the local database.
