Buffer since Frodo on ATV2 with any 1080p Files
#1
hey Guys,

is something about cache changes or other things known in Frodo?
Since Frodo (now RC1) all Files with 1080p are buffering. Before with Eden it was fine.

ATV2 with NAS per NFS Share, tested also with SMB, FTP, AFP
1GBit Network
1080p .mkv Files

I don't know what i can do except downgrade to Eden.

I'm not sure about this, but somehow it seems to be downsampling your DTS track to stereo even thou you got DTS passthrough enabled. Also, have you got AAC passthrough enabled in advancesettings? That has been removed in Frodo Wink

Btw. got a mediainfo for us?

So DTS and AAC passthrough was enabled in Eden. I never touched this setting after upgrading to Frodo.

I'll disable AAC passthrough and see what happens Smile

Ok i checked the advancedsettings and there is no option for passthrough set.
At XBMC itself is set AC3 and DTS passthrough.

Move away your guisettings.xml and let XBMC create a new one and see if this fixes it. Also you should get rid of the dirty region tags - these are defaulted to a catch all algorithm.

What happens if you remove the cachemembuffersize tag?

i've try'd all this, new guisettings.xml, removed dirty region tags and removed cachemembuffersize from advanced settings.

There is no change to the buffer problem Sad

Have you noticed any changes on your receiver? Does it still downsample your file to stereo?
A new log after removing what memphiz said would be helpful Wink

Well then Sad - i'm using my atv2 very often latly (livetv mostly but also some 720p tv shows) and have to say that it runs great (ios 5.0.1 and ethernet). Apple hw seems a bit picky about used network equipment but thats all i can tell.

Some how it still won't passthroght your 5.1 DTS to your receiver and ends up downsampling it to stereo
