XBMC on a second TV via LAN?
#1
In my lounge I have an ATV2 connected to my main TV, and XBMC is configured to source videos from my Windows Home Server via SMB.
I recently bought a second TV (Samsung Series 5 SmartTV) which I connected to the LAN (all devices are wired), thinking I would play files directly from the server on it. I was surprised after setting up the TV that it can see both the server and the XBMC install on the ATV2 as video sources. So my question is, does it make any difference playing directly from the server or via the ATV2? I've had a wee tinker with both and haven't seen any difference noticeable to me yet. And I just thought of another question... I know the ATV2 can only output at 720p via the HDMI port, but over the LAN to the second TV would it output 1080p videos at the higher resolution?
