Hello,

Given the recent news that AMD is working on decent open source support for video decode I'm interested in a small AMD board for running XBMC, but I can't figure out all those chip sets etc. A whish list contains
- ethernet
- on board RAM (nice to have)
- on board CPU
- on board GPU with UVD2
- SATA with on board SATA power
- barrel plug power (nice to have)
- HDMI
- 2*USB
- fanless
The Gizmo board is close, but it has VGA, not HDMI. [edit]OH, and it seems to be an expansion card[/edit] Any suggestions?

I'd suggest to wait for actual release & more information on supported system / chipset.

Personally I wouldn't go AMD route ,only when it's windows based. Nvidia has been far superior in Linux support.

I can imagine this is true for binary drivers, Catalyst is too painful to deal with. But the open 3D support is pretty good now and improving and I have good hopes for open video decode.

The patches are released already (though not as a mesa release yet) and some Gentoo guy got it working.

radeon/RV710_uvd.bin: Radeon 4350-4670, 4770.
radeon/RV770_uvd.bin: Not useful at this time. Maybe later for 4200, 4730, 4830-4890.
radeon/CYPRESS_uvd.bin: Evergreen cards.
radeon/SUMO_uvd.bin: Northern Islands cards and Zacate/Llano APUs.
radeon/TAHITI_uvd.bin: Southern Islands cards and Trinity APUs.
