I mainly watch anime on my iPad and i've had some problems getting certain videos to play. XBMC can handle my uncompressed 1080p Blu-Ray rip .MKV files that vary from 3-25gb in size and from 20 mins to over 2 hours in length but can not handle much smaller 250 - 500mb 720p videos that are less than 20 mins long without stuttering and losing audio sync.

Is there any explaining why? Is there a way of fixing it?

I would love to provide some clips of the offending videos but with an upload speed of less than 0.5mb it's impossible.

The A5 should be okay with most stylized subs, but sometimes groups will use fancy stylizations that are more CPU intensive (various things like rendered backgrounds and blurs and fancy borders, etc).
