Hi everyone,
I really love XBMC, but one thing doesn't work very fine, HLS support is even better on Boxee, simply with url, no local proxy. Full support on XBMC, Just a dream?

AES should be supported in master, came in with the ffmpeg bump. boxee uses its own code, but we don't want to go there, when we have an upstream maintaining it for us.

i'm sure you still have to build your ffmpeg like that...

Is there a reason that XBMC cannot have ffmpeg compiled with gnutls by default? From my understanding (which is limited) it would not cause a licensing issue, but could/would it cause a performance issue? It would be a shame to have to run custom builds of XBMC just for an add-on.

no reason. but somebody needs to do the work, confirm that it works on all platforms, then send the diffs.

I don't know about AES but standard HLS (using http:// URLs) work just fine even in Frodo.

Guys I was also hoping for this support for another feed. Is there anyway to get xbmc to play it as yet?

Bumping this one as it seem appropriate for my question.
Is it correct that HLS streams with AES encryption is supported on Linux and Windows but not on Apple TV?
Running XBMC 13.1 on a ATV2 I cannot playback this stream* but it does work on Linux and Windows (13.1).
