i have to currently continue to use media player rather than media center cos i need to be able to list all the files within a directory alphabetically by their filenames but xbmc always reads the id3 tag and lists according to the song title, date, & size.
can you please give the option to either sort the list by "filename", "title", "artist", "year" etc.
can someone also tell me how to turn off the screen dimming that occurs after a short period on inactivity.

sorry, ignore this request. i just downloaded the latest build and i notice this has now been implemented. thanks very much guys. i appreciate your work very much.
the only thing left that would make me one very happy person would be the abilty to play other http audio streams other than shoutcast such as the wma streams used by windows media player to play many of the internet radio stations.

as far as i know xbmc can't parse the asx file. but if you download it and open it with notepad you see the real url played by the asx file. in your case it is mms://audio1.musicradio.com/classicgold.
read the xbmc
online-manual,
faq and
search the forums before posting! do not e-mail the xbmc-team asking for support!
read/follow the
forum rules! note! team-xbmc never have and never will host or distribute ms-xdk binaries/executables!

just tried that and the xbox just locks upp. i tested the link on windows media player and it was working. i did notice that when i downloaded the link it had changed to mms://audio2.musicradio.com/classicgold.
did you have this audio stream playing? on xbmc, if so, what did you enter into the .strm file.

when i have id3 tags enabled it always puts the artist first, i simply want to have it show the song title first and the artist second.
please don't tell me this isn't possible.

i asked for this funtion myself a while ago and agree it would make xbmc much easier viewing when browsing through the file list.
