Linux htpc idea with low power fanless mini pc
#1
Hi guys, im currently planning to replace my old celeron 3300, with a smaller thin pc which i can leave running 24/7 without stressing fans and stuff.

what i have in mind is a http://www.minix.com.hk/Products/MINIX-Mini-HD-PC.html, since this equipment has only GMA 3600 it wont probably do full 1080 under linux, so i have in mind adding a bradcom crystalHD to the pcie slot its equiped with, to handle all the decoding.

the idea is kinda simple, but maybe someone has experience with this broadcom cards... i havent found much info about it, and using a video card to do the decoding is most accepted/common... maybe this lil cards are more problemmatic than they seem to be.

if anyone can shed some light on my idea, i'd be really greatfull
