I am planning on getting a mini PC to use for my HTPC. I will store my files on my main desktop PC (Windows based).
I am not planning on buying until Christmas.
Anyway several questions.

1) Do either of the following look like a better choice?

http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news...ly-haswell

http://utilite-computer.com/web/utilite-models

*I am going to use it mostly to play 1080P movies and some music files.
* I do use Netflix but can go without it on this if necessary.
* I would like to be able to stream radio stations also. My favorite radio station (WXRT Chicago) is a CBS radio station. I only seem to be able to stream their music online on my PC or Ipad. I see no Apps.
* I am not sure I plan on getting involved on the plugin addons to stream other TV. I could change my mind. But people seem to go through a lot of problems keeping up on them.
*One final thing does anyone know if the slingbox that Dish network DVR's come with could be shown through either of these? I currently have DirecTV but may switch for the new user discount in the future. My kids currently have no TV in their room. I was wondering if I bought an inexpensive TV if I could stream my Dish to their TV without another hookup. (Maybe the wrong board to ask that question)

Any other suggestions besides these two would be nice also. The cheapest that will handle what I want is my first choice. I really have no interest in the Rasberry Pi though.

Thanks

Yes! Haswell!

But NUCs in Singapore are sold at ridiculous prices. You're better off buying it from Amazon and shipping it to SG, if the seller has international shipping.

I'm assuming that you're located in Singapore since you used hardwarezone.com.sg

I'm also curious about the Slingbox, since I have one in the US myself. But Slingbox nowadays uses a web browser for viewing, are there apps for the XBMC?
