I solved that problem with a piece cardboard and tape. Its hidden behind the TV and in the bedroom so I don't care about aesthetics...cost me nada

If they could figure out how to get their shipping costs down it'd be a no brainer to get one of these boxes.

Can't believe they are loading cracked versions of Windows as well for peanuts pricing. That's very nice of them.

Poor Microsoft. This is why so many software companies dislike china lol.

Shipping was only $28.... Cheap enough

These are a bit old now. Should I still go for the x-26? Are there any other versions recommended? What reseller? Inctel?
Anyone running the fanless version? Does it get too hot?
Thinking of running ubuntu or perhaps openelec, and maybe some small services.
Perhaps 2/4gb ram and 8gb ssd.

what do you think?

The question you always have to ask yourself is "Why am I doing this?"
So what are you planning to do on this PC that will use over 2GB of ram? XBMC uses around 500MB of ram max for me. So even 1GB of ram would be good enough for this system. 2GB would be more than enough. 4GB would be overkill.

Suggests it gets reasonably warm.

Does anyone have experience with this, which has CIR? Wanted to know if the CIR works with Openelec.

It's very likely that IR receiver is proprietary and will only work with that remote. It looks exactly like one I used to include with the IWill SH-55, SH-80, HT-80 and HT-100 cases (Iwill is the OEM for at least some of the cases that vendor sells).

I'm not sure why one would buy this. For ~$200 you can build a NUC DN2820 based HTPC that should perform much better, right?

That is very dependent on where in the world you live.
