and why install windows when you got Openelec.
Exactly. This competes with the NUC ... which comes with no OS.
It also competes with Android boxes at this price point.
Good news is:
- There are spare USB rails
- There is an option to have infra red in the box.
- They can provide pictures of the insides, etc..
Have asked manufacturer for permission to reproduce the information on this forum (chipset options, pictures, etc..).
If you want information sent privately before then, just send me a PM, and I'll forward it to you.
Manufacturer is in China, and have asked them to try and come to some better solution for postage, because we're all located everywhere around the world.
I think we should probably spec up 2 types of box, to keep it simple -
Openelec build: Celeron C1037U (G1610 is also possible), 2Gb RAM, 8Gb SSD
Windows build: i3 3210, 4Gb RAM, 32Gb SSD
Someone asked - why windows? There's a familiarity with using Windows, that people may prefer. It also turns it into more of a multi-purpose computer.
I would like IR, but I don't know if it will work to turn the PC on and off.
