Intel® Bay Trail 'OPEN STB'
integrating this PCS-MCE IR module chip from Simerec could be nice http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=187516

It would out-of-the-box enable both RC6 / MCE compatible IR remotes and PCS-3 power-on / power-off via IR remote.

Hi

Project should come together next week. We have had bios issues but hopefully all resolved now. As soon as I have a working box you will be the first to know.

With 14,000+ views there certainly seems to be a lot of interest. It would be a pity if this did not see the light of day.

What is most interesting for XBMC usage is that this price will include integrated 2GB RAM and 32GB solid-state storage:

✓ Bay Trail-M (unknown so far if it will have N2800, N2900 or N3500 Bay Trail SoC)
✓ 1 x Fanless heat sink
✓ 2GB DDR3L
✓ 32GB eMMC NAND Flash Memory
✓ 1 x USB 3.0
✓ 1 x USB 2.0
✓ 1 x HDMI
✓ 1 x VGA
✓ 1 x 3.5mm audio combo jack w. analog mic in and stereo out (Realtek ALC282)
✓ 1 x Gigabit Ethernet
✓ IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n
✓ Bluetooth 4.0
✓ Expansion card possible via M.2 (NGFF) interface occupied by Wi-Fi/BT module
✓ Powered via 5V Micro USB. for up to 15W power consumption
✓ 118 x 70 x 56mm
✓ 190g

It will ship without OS but supports both Windows and Linux, so could be perfect for OpenELEC with XBMC

Hi Everyone

It has been a long time since I posted and a very long journey. The product now lives and works with just some MAXQ ir work to complete. I hope the community is still interested. The product now boasts J1900 up to 8GB ram and mSata HDD for £99 +vat. You can find us at iControlhub.com. The pictures on the site are of the CE5300 version and will soon be updated.

Any Questions fire away

Thanks

The pics have HDMI in. If it doesn't include HDMI in, why do the pics say it has?

And why do the pics show antenna if the price doesn't include antenna?

I think that the poster has explained that the platform has switched from the CE5300 to the J1900 - hence the loss of the HDMI in (which is a function of the CE5300 ISTR - as used in Google TV first gen boxes)

I guess they are a small operation who haven't properly updated their website yet... They may not have pictures of the new prototypes?

Thank you for your post. You are correct we are a small company and the product has switched from the CE5300 to the J1900. We will get the pictures on the site updated asap. Sorry for any confusion.
