No Internet connection when using Gotham nightly build for my Android tv box
#1
Purchased a generic Android tv box of eBay and I've installed Xbmc on it. Trying Gotham build at moment. Monthly build ran OK but I thought I'd try a nightly. Only problem I'm getting is that it won't detect my Internet connection yet the monthly one works fine. Anyone else had this problem?

Sure enough, nothing, not even RSS feeds, can connect to anything in XBMC, according to the log. I just don't know what would cause that in a single app and not effect the others, or why it would happen in a nightly build and not all builds.

Do you have any other details of the box you bought? Maybe a link to the guy who sold it?

Purchased it off eBay. I'll go into settings and list everything in there. It's strange as 'frodo' works OK. Installed that and net connection fine and installed add one OK.

The last monthly 'gotham' worked OK, net was fine... Seemed quite fast to use as well, better than from in that sense, but I don't know why these nightly will not work.

As stated above, I'm now back to using frodo, it just seems to work for the time being

I am newbie in this forum. My TV player is CS918S Android 4.2. I installed Frodo 12.3 and it are working well, but there are not direct USB connection and DVD working pure. These problems are solved in the last nightly versions but after upgrade loses internet connection (only in XBMC). Same as I installed last nightly versions (as xbmc-20140217-4af3b54-master-armeabi-v7a.apk) directly. When I installed back Frodo 12.3, internet connection was established. Same not happened in my Win.8.1 PC internet connection stay after upgrade. In can’t find any settings so in Android and XBMC side. Can you help me?

I'm seeming to have the same internet connection with my Gotham build too! I'm unable to update the information of videos in my library. The system information on XBMC says I don't have an internet connection. No installing Add-ons, updating from TVDB or TMDB, or installing new skins. Yet when I exit XBMC, I can browse, listen to Iheart Radio, or go to YouTube. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to my log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=134515

Thanks!

I checked more my internet connection problem and noticed that all to me available XBMC 13 versions are loss internet connection. In my box CS 918s original preinstalled XBMC version was VidOnTv 13.0-ALPHA4git:20130527 what not supported internet connection and the last Gotham 13 xbmc-20140306-1cba479-Gotham-armeabi-v7a.apk, same problem.
XBMC Frodo 12.3 and Beyond XBMC Beta 3.3 (Launcher Version).apk (12.4) don’t have this problem.
Maybe somebody can say to me, is my box CS918S 5.0MP Webcam Android 4.2 Smart TV Box 2GB/16GB , compatible to Gotham 13
Thank you!

Well since my last post, I remove Gotham and went back to Frodo. I recently decided to give Gotham another try. Everything works great expect for adding new add-on, or scraping new movies. It still acts as if it's not connecting to the internet. In the logs, here's the error I'm finding:

"18:28:29 T:1638081248 ERROR: CCurlFile::FillBuffer - Failed: Couldn't connect to server(7)
18:28:29 T:1638081248 ERROR: CCurlFile::CReadState::Connect, didn't get any data from stream.
18:28:29 T:1638081248 ERROR: std::vector<CStdStr<char> > ADDON::CScraper::Run(const CStdString&, const CScraperUrl&, XFILE::CCurlFile&, const std::vector<CStdStr<char> >*): Unable to parse web site
"

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
