just to leave feedback on this same issue... i wasnt able to play any videos with 1.8 and the latest 2006/03/16 proper cvs t3ch version...

it just freezes like discussed... i did get a flash on the screen and it went to media player but screen was black no video/audio...

i can get it to work on pc... if i was none the wiser i would guess it is down to the guys developing the player... but i dont know... judging for latest comments i think your all on to something... hope it fixes sometime...

who can build the latest mplayer into xbmc? since theres a feature freeze it may be a while before its attempted.

this thread should be mirrored onto x-s forums. people over there constantly asking about it. maybe someone there can help or we could get this topic stickied. i'm sure lots more people read those forums. just my opinion.

on xbmcscripts.com there is an updated version of launchbrowser v.1.8.5 ..

haven't tried it yet .. perhaps its working now?

just had a quick look at the change. the change is only to get the mms url as yahoo changed their user-agent requirement. i hvae already fixed this in my own version. you will be able to get the mms link again but it still wont play in xbmc. i am still trying to find a work around.

ok launch seem to now have changed to a comaptible codec again so everything should be working again. get the latest 1.8.5 from xbmc scripts and it should all be working again. there will be a new script fairly soon with some new functionality.

me again. ok looks like its very few streams that will actually work so while you may have some luck with the 1.8.5 version it more than likely wont play most of the streams. i am looking for a version of xbmc that has teh different player cores. this i think is a recent addition to the code so anybody have an idea what version i need. cheers

for what it is worth, i've been playing with this...

many of the streams won't play the first few times i try, but if i give it several (4 or 5) tries, it will finally play. ?

i just compiled to xbmc cvs 13.04.06 and tried the new launchbrowser v1.8.5 but most videos don't work.

i can copy the mms stream into wmp on my pc and it will play.

anyone got any ideas. the mplayer version looks new
mplayer dev-cvs-060326-23:36 so i dont know what to think.

any help greatly appreciated.
i also tried to use the dvdplayer core but mms streams not supported unfortunately.

that's very strange. i have tested over 50 videos in the last week with my updated script and not one has failed. i'm using an xbmc from a couple of months ago.

i'm using a t3ch xbmc build from march 24, 2006.

are you having any issues accessing radio streams or the rss feeds from xbox-scene etc?
