i moved my very large music library to a NAS drive, from one that was usb'd to my computer. do i have to rescan my library or is there a different way? the library is not working currently, tho i can play songs in file mode from my remote. i have a pivos/ linux frodo-stock xbmc database setup, and it takes quite a while to scan my library ( 10,000 artists...) is there a faster way?

Path substitution (to map the old path to the new path), or a SQL update (replacing old path with new path) are the only two options that come to mind.
Personally, I'd just take the hit and rebuild the music db from scratch.

Can't you edit the source and then not refresh when asked?
Like Millhouse said I would take the hit and rescan.
