I've been meaning to download the nightly and test it out. Finally did that today, and it works!! Go to System->Settings->Video->Playback, and then uncheck "Prefer default audio streams". For me, it now selects the 5.1 track over the 2.0 default audio track. Thank you so much! Now I just have to wait until this gets pushed to OSMC for my Raspberry Pi.......

I would suggest this order for automatic audio stream selection:

1. Uncompressed multichannel like pcm in your preferred language
2. Lossless multichannel codec like FLAC, DTS-HD, TrueHD in your preferred language
3. Lossy multichannel codec like Dolby Digital in your preferred language
4.Lossles stereo in your preferred language
5. Lossy stereo in your preferred language
6.Lossles mono in your preferred language
7. Lossy mono in your preferred language
8. Uncompressed multichannel like pcm setted as default
9. Lossless multichannel codec like FLAC, DTS-HD, TrueHD setted as default
10. Lossy multichannel codec like Dolby Digital setted as default
11.Lossles stereo setted as default
12. Lossy stereo setted as default
13.Lossles mono setted as default
14. Lossy mono setted as default

So basicaly should be 3 orders:
1. Compression quality:
Uncompressed > Lossless > Lossy
2. Number of channels
Higher number > Lower nmber
3. Preferences
User preferred > Default

I made this orderings with quality in mind while taking into account preferences and for using Kodi with a multichannel receiver

In my opinion preferences should have higher priority over quality and number of channels
I actually prefer to hear the audio in my language at lower quality than to hear it in english at best quality
Also most of my friends don't understand english that well

Thanks
