Turn on debugging. Quit xbmc. Wait that minutes until it really quits and then pastebin the complete xbmc.log
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Oh sorry, I must have been a bit vague in my description. I am not getting this on every exit, just a bit now and then. I guess it feels often but perhaps it's not that often. I am having a hard time trying to reproduce the freeze atm. It seems to happen when XBMC have been turned on for a long time so from now on I will turn on debug logging before I try and exit and eventually I will catch it.
Was just posting in case anyone else had found a reason for it without posting it.

Try to disable all the addons too.
