Streaming xbmc Audio Output to Icecast2
#1
Hi,

i want to play my music library on my roofgarden using a hardware based streaming radio. the radio is capable of playing http streams like provided by icecast/shoutcast streaming servers.

My setup is a ubuntu 12.04 box, running xbmc 12.3 with nvidia gfx hdmi as sound output, standing below my tv in the living room. All is networked in a wired/wireless mixed environment. So controlling the xbmc via a smartphone or webinterface is not an issue.

I thought i can do the following xbmc -> soundcard -> darkices -> icecast -> <wireless network> <- radiobox playing icecast stream
But i am stuck in getting the right audio device as source for re-encoding and streaming.

Has anyone of you a similar setup or an idea on how to solve this in a better way? Maybe there is already a xbmc-plugin streaming all output to icecast2, which i am currently not aware of?

thank you very much for your help and/or ideas,

nailz
