Exclude paths from UPNP listings
#1
On Linux, XBMC always shows mounted removable drives in the Files listing.

I've excluded my external hard drives using the advancedsettings.xml file.

However, these drives still show up when browsing the XBMC UPnP share. This is not desirable, because not all of my removable drives contain media. Some drives contain backups, some contain confidential files, and I don't want the external drive to be visible over UPnP at all, let alone the directory names.

How can I exclude these drives from being shared over UPnP?

I always thought xbmc upnp only shared what is in your library?

Me too, until this happened.

UPnP now shows anything that the files node can access, as well. I'm guessing <excludefromlisting> only applies to the XBMC GUI, and XBMC itself still sees those drives.

In other words, XBMC cannot currently exclude those drives over UPnP.

Indeed.

I've done more research, and this does not happen on Windows. There, you only see folders that are explicitely shared over UPnP. I find this bizarre.
