I've been watching this one too. Looks very promising!

On win8.1 kodi helix worked in my limited pre-bricking experiment.
Actually it is too small and light to be a brick, more the size of one of those rubber wedges for holding a door open.
Do NOT change the USB settings in the bios. I did and now I have no control, because the only control is via USB, and my USB no longer works. It now boots to a windows splash screen, pre-login screensavery type page. The wifi icon even comes on and it is on the lan. Alas I did not set up any remote access software.
Resetting bios is via - you guessed it - USB stick. USB doesn't work, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00.
I didn't activate bluetooth, but I doubt a BT keyboard works in the bios anyway so that wouldn't do more than keep me on windows.

Can you boot off the MicroSD? or is that disabled with USB?
If so, perhaps you could get someone else who owns one to install an OS to SD card with VNC enabled and if you could boot that and VNC to it you could run a script to reset the bios (if such a script exists).
A lot of if's there.

If you have a network share enabled, it could be that you have access to the commandline over SMB
