I have a small media box running XBMC connected to my TV and am looking to get a NAS to sit in a cupboard and support this, a few computers and ipads. I want to serve 1080p content to my media box, stream music to a SONOS system, download tv shows... and that's probably it.

I'll planning to install 4 x 4TB WD red drives, but am clueless about which NAS to buy!

Any suggestions?

I can recommend Synology https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/DS414j - nice software but costs more $ vs building a FreeNAS based PC.
