i´d like to have an option to select a userdata-folder on my hd outside of xbmc. then you can update xbmc without overwriting your settings by fault.
xbmc should have "hardcoded" settings for the first start and ask the user whether to create a userdata-folder on a location the user wants or to select a existing userdata folder the user created and (maybe edited) before.
the userdata settings for the first start could be packed in a zip (like the weather data) and unpacked for the first start or if the user wants to create a new userdata-folder.
