I am unable to disable the remote power button on my remote.
I want that button to have no effect as I want the computer to stay on always.

I have edited the remote XML file so the POWER line is <power>NOOP</power> but that has no effect.

It seems something else is over riding that entry.

What type of remote control are you using? Is it mce (RC6)? If so use http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=164252 to remap the power button to something else.
