If managing your very own system is a problem for you, use OpenELEC.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

No - the only thing that comes to my mind is, that you are having an USB installation. If that's the case suspend is disabled out of obvious reasons.

Installed it by placing into the update folder, then rebooted.
No Usb.
Maybe I've installed the wrong build or something?

I enabled Advanced settings and all is sweet now thanks.
