System won't open
Just get the Openelec logo and following message in top right hand corner:

Error in mount _ storage: mount_common: could not mount/dev/data
Starting debugging shell...type. exit to quit
Can't access try; job control turned off

Screen is frozen and will not allow us to move anywhere.
Tried all the usual stuff turning off, unplugging etc...

It worked fine this morning!

Can any one help?

Sounds like a disc corruption. Unexpected power down? Unreliable power? Children pushing jam into the holes?

Whatever, the way I'd handle it would be:

1. See if you can ssh in. If not, consider mounting the disc (flash? HDD?) onto a different system or booting into a live Linux distro

2. Run fsck on the offending partition.

Now, there are a lot of variables in there, and depending on how comfortable/blindly stubborn you are, you may struggle. But that's the problem IMO.

If you have a backup of anything important (you have... haven't you?), re-installing OE might be quicker...
