Sort by filename
#1
Recently I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8, and from XBMC Gotham to Kodi Isengard and I can't sort any library by file name. It's driving me crazy, I can sort by title but not filename. I have folders that have collections in (Back to the Future, Terminator and so on, yes I have checked the folders as sets) and single movies. But it doesn't show it like it was before. I have the Aeon Nox skin and I have tried other skins, but to no avail
For example this is how my movie library used to look like.........
500 Days of Summer (single movie), Back to the Future (folder with the 3 movies), Casino (single movie), Dog Day Afternoon (single movie), Godfather (folder with 3 movies)...know what I mean?
Now every time I set it up to sort by title it either shows folders first then single titles or every movie one after the other.
Is there a way to put in a custom shortcut in the settings for Movies in the Aeon Nox settings to show this? Or an add-on? Am I missing something?
Being a little fussy I know, but people are fussy in one way or another
Many thanks to anyone that helps me out

Are you using library mode or file mode? Sounds like file mode, may I ask why not use library mode?

I really have no idea what I am talking about. Proceed with caution. I confuse easily. And drink. A lot.

No idea if I'm using Library or file mode, but I'll look it up.I'll check out the Movie sets too, even though group movies in sets is checked already.
Cheers and thanks

So I tried many different ways with the shortcut and I found one that worked...sort of
I first deleted and added the source (D:/Movies) using the Universal Movie Scraper(Movies in a separate folder/ scan recursively is unchecked). Once that is added and scraped I went to the skin settings..Settings - Appearance - Skin Settings - Home window - Setup the aeon nox main menu - Movies - Default set action - Choose shortcut - Video library - Sources - Movies(from D:/Movies) - Create shortcut to here - Files view

Then I choose Movies from the Home window - Files - Movies - I see folders and movies in order....and that's EXACTLY how I want it, but before I didn't have to click on Files and Movies

Any ideas?

Realistically you need to look at how to add your movies into library mode. No real point in using kodi if just for filemode....might as well just vlc. But to answer your question, check out superfavorites addon, that will allow you to make a favorite of just about anything! Then it should be easy to setup in the menu.
