Question: Placing only Kodi on ARM Minix Neo X8H Plus
#1
I have the following device.

- Minix Neo X8H Plus http://minix.com.hk/products/neo-x8-plus
- ARM processor
- Minix OS
- Kodi application for ARM from kodi.tv/download

Everything works OK so I could just leave it alone.

I only have a need for Kodi and do not need any other operating system features nor applications. So, I was considering wiping the entire device and putting only the latest Kodi on it.

Questions:
1) If the latest Kodi application is running just fine on the Minix device, should I just leave well enough alone and use the device as is?
2) If I were to wipe the device, what installation would I use? Kodibuntu? Openelec with Kodi?
3) If I were to wipe the device and put some Kodi variation on it, would l be eliminating the functionality of the Minix device by ruining inherent access to WIFI,bluetooth, remotes, video, audio, etc?

Thanks for any help, opinions, comments, etc.

Update #1: I found the following information that gives me some hope that this is possible and that I might like the results.

Various "Android" boxes - can run reinstalled with a Linux firmware and boot directly into Kodi. Hardware video decoding for most video codecs, GUI is very responsive on most skins. Running Linux and Kodi on these "Android boxes" will likely result in better performance and enhanced playback capabilities than running Kodi under Android.

Update #2: I'm now wondering if my current device with Minix and Kodi is already what I'm asking for. If Minix is a Linux based install with the Kodi application, then I likely have something very similar to Kodibuntu. Since my device is running Minix OS, I assume I am not running an Android OS. I'm not an Android guy, nor am I proficient in the layers of OS versus application in this topic. Not sure if this is accurate.

Update #3: I think I found my answer on a Minix post. I should leave alone what I have since it is working.

These are the OpenELEC images for the X8-H Plus:

You will just have to work out how to flash them to NAND on the MINIX.
