I have a pc that I want to set up as a dedicated media player. As of right now I have Windows 7 installed and Kodi Isengard installed on top of windows. I am wondering if there is a guide on how to properly set this PC up so that Kodi will run smoothly. Should I change the the OS? Is there modifications I should make to Windows? Thank you for your input.

You may want to play a bit with the audio and video settings, also in Windows (in your nVidia or AMD settings program) to see what works best for you.


What I like for a dedicated Windows HTPC is Launcher4Kodi, to make Kodi start right at boot.

Check out Openelec if you want to drop Windows all together, there is nothing more dedicated then Openelec for that.
