I will ping users with actual android hardware and ask if they see the same issue.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Some Android ROMs are floating out there with a conflicting libcec installed on the system level. Maybe related? Just a guess.

This one is from one of my mobiles; easiest for now but I can provide logs with same results from four other chipsets perhaps

Not sure if this info can help...There is Error for libcec in other builds too, (log from 16.1-RC1 for example) but Kodi works anyway.

That's the normal error that almost every Kodi install will see, I think. It just means that it won't use libcec (no CEC support, or it is using the "generic" CEC support from the Android OS).

libcec is not shipped on Kodi Android, that's the reason of the log message Wink
We should stop trying loading it, as it is useless, anyway. CEC is handled at the firmware level on all known droid boxes.

Not sure about the rom including it. Probably a name conflict with a system lib.

This I know to be actual and true. But I can't load Kodi-master builds on Android since 3/10 on various chipsets and devices ranging from mobiles to tablets up to tv boxes; Intel, RK, Qualcomm, MTK, Amlogic are all affected. It's been assumed by some team members that only specific chipsets are affected by the crashes but I have to reiterate, I don't think in this particular instance that's the case.

I'll be uploading a few more logs, just to see if anything stands out from other devices.

... right on. Very odd to see that shared object called from Kodi on android, I hope the PR gets accepted/merged

Does that mean Kodi will work soon? Yay! Music
And for the record, I wasn’t complaining. I just read about brand new look for future Kodi, and I had to try it, and then I fall in love in Estouchy Blush and was trying and waiting for working developer build since.

You guys are awesome! And Kodi is awesome too! Thank you for all the work and effort you put into it! Smile

...we'll have to wait and see. The PR hasn't been accepted and merged into master quite yet. If and when it does at least we'll be on the right track again. . .
