I have looked on many threads to achieve the same result as my wife goes to bed early & complains about the screen being on. I am using the latest version of kodi 17 and have tried all the different ways above without any success. Has anybody here been able to get sbs working on kodi 17? I also found the touch function works on the left side of the screen.

Yes. It works. Just read the entire thread and follow the instructions: especially the LAST part where you set the 3d mode BACK TO AUTO from side-by-side (or over-under).
And yes, only ONE SIDE of the screen will respond to that LAST touch: Left or Top, whichever you selected, side-by-side or over-under, before
