While there are some very legitimate use cases for this, I think more specific buttons like that will need a context-sensitive on-screen-keyboard before being added. The current on screen keyboard is global and shows the same buttons, no matter where you are in Kodi. While it makes sense to show http:// for file sources or video sources, it doesn't make sense to show an http button for a search on actors or entering a movie title. Once Kodi's OSK can detect what kind of input is being used, then I think stuff like this will be really looked at.
It will also allow for automatic switching between a normal alphanumeric keyboard to a numberpad, for input that is only numbers, as well as showing @ buttons when something is seen as e-mail address entry, etc.

We do currently have specific keyboards for entering numbers, and for entering IP addresses.

Sort of. It's only for IP addresses and doesn't work for other numerical entry. The way it works is very of clunky, IMO.
