Thanks for asking. I thought it was only mine that didn't work. It does everything but actually play the video. Sure someone could fix it?

it hasn't been updated since January 5th, 2006... that would be why it doesn't work... was bogarman the only coder for this? and if so would anybody be willing to try and update it?

Everything on mine works except actually playing the video e.g. bringing up new videos list and accessing artist biographies work. When I click on the video to play it goes through the motions with the streaming dialog boxes popping up and then it does nothing.
I am sure it just needs a little tweak to fix. It was working fine a few months ago so maybe Launch.com updated something on their website which has broken the script.

Here is a plugin for yahoo videos. http://xbmc-scripting.googlecode.com/svn...Plugin.zip
I limited the search results to AOL, Yahoo and Youtube. I also add the word "music" to the query, so test it and let me know how it works. If you know of any other sites that are partners with Yahoo, then those can be added.
This is a plugin, so put it in q:\plugins\video, then if you have a newer version of xbmc, go to library view and video plugins, or you can add source video plugin from files view.
I'll consider suggestions. There is rough download code in now, but it's not activated. That may be a future update.
I included one preset, so you can see how it works.
When you do a search, you have the option of saving that search as a preset.
Also, if you go to sortby and choose studio, the host site will display so you can see if it's a youtube, yahoo or aol video.

another suggestion... option to filter your results from 1 source or combination of sources such as only yahoo videos and aol videos or only youtube videos etc.

the abilty to add your own sites may be possible in the future.
The download maybe also available when i figure a proper way to handle it.

I installed the plugin and it lets me navigate and search the videos but when I select to play it doesn't do anything. Any solution? Cheers.

not with that lack of info.
Some videos may not play (broken links), some may require you to be in the US (I think some aol require this). The Youtubes are bad for broken links.

I just wanted to take the time to thank you so much for making this plug-in! I have been waiting for something like this for along time.
Is there any way to add the top 100 list from yahoo videos?

How much of the script code is interchangeable with plugin code? i ask because if script code is reusable then you can get the original launchbrowser code off of xbmcscripts.com

completely different method for finding videos. This is strictly a search there is no top100 listing or anything.
You may be able to use the methods for constructing a valid link from this plugin and use it in the script, that would be nice if the script still gives listings, it was my favorite script.
But this was easier to do for me and i didn't realize the results would not be as good until i actually did it.
Look in YahooClient.py for the different methods of constructing a valid url.
