I have neen playing with Kodi now for a few weeks and have seen videos of tiles on the home screen of movies, tv show, etc. I wouldl like to put new movies/tcv, recently watched movies/tv, etc on the home screen without going into addons, but I cannot figure out how to do it. Any ideas?

Have you setup your Kodi video library?

If you add your personal movie and TV show collection to their respective libraries they will show up as "recently added" widgets on the homescreen dependent of the skin you are using.
