I am not sure what happens but when I leave Kodi running (not playing anything) it freezes when left on overnight. I have resorted to having kodi shut down after 2 hours, but there are times when I want to watch movies in the bedroom and I need this kodi machine running... any ideas on what could be the cause... and I know I should post a debug log but dont have access to one at the moment... cheers!

What is your setup? Is this a new setup? When did this start happening?
Does your KODI machine run into an Amp/Recreiver, then to the TV?
I had a similar problem, and it ended up being the Passthrough setting in the Amp.

Hi Blossom, Windows 7 PC running Kodi 16.1 HDMI to Denon Receiver then to TV... Had been doing it on and off for awhile.. I can try shutting off pass-through.. not sure the PC is set up as the pass-through channel on the amp I will have to check... Thanks for the heads up!

I have the Denon X7200. If your menu system is the same, you should find the setting as follows...
Setup Menu - Video - HDMI Setup - Turn ON HDMI Control - Pass Through Source should be your HTPC (whatever that input/name is on your amp)
