iPhone/iPod Touch Mouse & Keyboard

I think it would be a great idea to be able to use the iPhone or iPod touch as a mouse & keyboard for the XBMC system.

The software runs through a VNC client - so I don't know if its possible to run a very minimal VNC client within XBMC just to accept basic functions (keyboard, left right up down) or even the mouse motions as well. If it had enough support, we could probably even put a custom XBMC interface on the iPod/iPhone with all the menu options you'd like - effectively making it one of those $1,000 television remotes with the changing screens. Plus for those of us who love looking stuff up youtube etc. this keyboard would be sooo much faster.

Continued my search further and found that something similar to this has been started somewhat:

and this as well:

However, it looks like they are more trying to build an entire interface on the iPhone to look at sources, change playlists etc. That is great - I would just like the added ability of the keyboard and the mouse motions. Since you can send commands through the XBMC webserver - would this be that hard to implement into either of those programs? According to the following:

The sendkeys command is allowed, and so you could create a webpage of sorts hosted on the XBMC webserver that appears as a keyboard on your iPhone?

A completely different route this could go would be if the XBMC couldn't host a VNC session, you could have your OS host it, and have a program run on the OS that passes whatever key presses occur to XBMC when the program is running and the VNC session is open.
