I upgraded my Mint 17.3 to Mint 18.2 and my kodi icon disappeared (totally missing). I have tried to re-install it with no luck with the following error messages:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (>= 2:17.3+git20170525.0741-final-0trusty) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kodi-bin (< 2:17.3+git20170525.0741-final-0trusty.1~) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
I actually looked for kodi-bin and removed them from the system (rm -f kodi-bin). they were not present on doing a file search after removal.
Despite going through the procedure of cleaning out unmet dependencies through the terminal and finally doing a supposed removal of kodi I still get the above error message.
Any help will be appreciated
John
