These are all basically the same. TI only makes a few different DMDs. You get very subtle differences in performance and features.

The black levels on these are downright shameful.

Great price, but REC709, no 2020. And, yes, blacks levels may not be as good. Still, could deliver high bang-for-the-buck, similar to BenQ's W1070/2050 for 1080p.

I don't see rainbows w/DLP. Wanted to really like my Epson 5040UB LCD, but 3D ghosting is awful on it. Apparently varies from unit to unit, which itself doesn't inspire confidence.

@movie78, no 3D support on Optoma unfortunately. Now reading that 3D is supported like with BenQ.

Fairly solid review for BenQ here... I expect my unit from Amazon by next weekend.

Definitely. Looks like Optoma UHD50 (same price) will also do 4K + 3D. Both use same TI chip. For Optoma, nothing in their press releases or website indicate 3D, but projectorcentral.com is showing 3D and AVSForum members are saying this as well.

I'm not worried about lack of native REC2020 as both PJ's will take REC709 & 2020, but map to former. If these render 97% of REC709 as claimed, it should still be better than most 1080p PJs out there now.

Another good thing is both handle 4K HDR 4:2:0 at 60fps, and support 18Gbps, unlike Epson 4000/5040UB only managing 10.2 Gbps.
