I'm stuck building on Ubuntu 17.10.
I followed the README.linux in docs.

At

bash:
sudo apt-get build-dep kodi

I get

bash:
builddeps:kodi : Depends: libcec-dev (>= 4~) but it is not going to be installed

I've tried building and installing libcec from github and Pulse-Eight that it depends on.

Fixed it.
I missed the README.ubuntu that had a couple of additional steps that need to be called before the README.linux.
