Any idea, why ALSA audio output is not selectable in KODI any more, since upgrade from 18 Alpha2 to Beta1? No sound at all, even no GUI sounds. Before, ALSA survided all KODI updates so far.

I finally made it by deinstalling pulse driver

 sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio  pulseaudio-utils

Seems a little drastic.  Why didn't you just turn it off ?  Edit etc/pulse/client.conf, uncomment the autospawn line and change yes to no. Reboot - no more pulseaudio.   That's what I did over 3 years ago and Kodi has always worked properly.
