tvOS TvOS - Playback Failed
#1
Hello,

I installed wirelessly Kodi (kodi-20200408-16d33391-master-tvos) to my AppleTV 4K through XCode.

When I try to play a video or music or image I always get this failure:

(Playback failed - One or more items failed to play. Check the log for more information about this message.)

Please check link below for the Log File: error appeared after "2020-04-10 11:40:02.616"

Can you support here please?

Thank you

seems like samba issues, due to recent samba lib bump. Related thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=353136

your files are stored on a macOS machine, right?

Yes they are.

If I change to other place will it work?
Anyone knows if this will be solved soon?

Thanks

it's more macOS issue than Kodi.

you could try NFS protocol or non-macOS machine.

Maybe will help others with the same problem as me.
I found this program (NFS Manager - bresink.com) and it works now.
Now I can use NFS in Kodi instead of Samba.

Thank you

Should it make a difference if I'm running the open source implementation of samba on OSX rather than the Apple provided version?

Shares on MacOS 10.10.5 (Apple provided samba) work with Kodi for some reason.

Hmm, the samba share I'm having trouble connecting to is running on MacOS 10.7 with the macports samba3 installed - logs for that in this thread https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=353136 .

iirc before I installed macports version of samba it errored out even worse, possibly can't find server?

I've been waitind for a release that solves the samba issue but until now.. nothing.

I have to use NFS Manager because samba shows the error I mentioned before.

Is only me with this problem or anyone else has the same issue?

Thanks
