Android no Kodi Server in Google Playstore for Android TV Box M9C Max
#1
I'm trying to upgrade Kodi from the original 16.1 to something above 18 on my MediaBox M9C Max with Android 6.0.1.
When I download the 32bit ARM package from Kodi.tv (v19.0) i get an unspecific "Parse Error".
The preinstalled Playstore App shows all kinds of Kodi Clients but not the server itself.
Other apps could be happily downloaded and installed from the playstore (terminal server, WLAN UI etc.)
What might be wrong with my box (or the playstore :-))?
Many thanks for any insights.

Cheers

For starters, there is no such thing as a "Kodi Server".

Thank you for this clarification.
There are these Apps to operate a Kodi instance remotely, which may have raised this model in my mind.
Is media-renderer the right term?
Anyway, it is the Kodi app on my mediabox, that I‘m unable to update.

The Kodi application is designed to be a client application, processing external 'streams' of video and music via local network and internet connections.

Your mediabox may have certain limitations when it comes to updating software, perhaps the 32bit is a problem.
I'm no Android expert, but perhaps you can pick the correct package from here: http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/
