I have experimented with Kodi for some time and had it set up perfectly with my samsungTV/Sony Amp/Windows pc. However, I upgraded(?) the TV to 4k and ran into issues. Basically whenever the refresh rate is changed by Kodi there is a delay while the hmdi signal gets synced - and it sometimes doesn't sync leaving a nice little message on the screen.
I have changed a combination of TV & settings and cannot get past this issue - even on Kodi 19.
I have mediaportal 1 & 2 on the same PC and these change the refresh rate perfectly - no stutter, no delays. The only difference I can find is that mediaportal 1 uses "device reset" when changing the refresh rate. As an experiment I changed the setting to remove the "device reset" on mediaportal1 and low and behold I have the same problem as with Kodi - although it settled quicker. So my question - how does Kodi kick the display adaptor to change the refresh rate? Can it be changed to do "device reset"?
thanks in advance for any advice
