Solved Compatibility Question Re: Linux Mint 20.2 and Kodi
#1
Seeking to upgrade MediaCenter OS from LinuxMint 18.3 to 20.2.  Kodi 18.9 runs beautifully on 18.3.  I have preserved 18.3/Kodi 18.9 on an independent SSD, so I can always go back.  Using new SSD and fresh 20.2 install (from LinuxMint web page) for the MediaCenter upgrade.  Attempts to load Kodi on new SSD (LinuxMint 20.2) (sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:team-xbmc/ppa) always seems to revert to Kodi 18.6 for Debian.  I'm having a list of problems getting the Debian version to conform, and wish to match the upgrade with my original 'Team-XBMC' Kodi 18.9.  It appears to me that Team XBMC is still actively providing Kodi versions.  Will these still run on LinuxMint?  If so, what are the specific commands to get one of these loaded?  Willing to completely purge the SSD, and start anew.  Willing to move on to Kodi 19.

AFAIK Mint 20.x is based on Ubuntu Focal Fossa

The Kodi PPA provides Kodi 19.3 for that

https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

Maybe you need to update the repos after adding the PPA. The command above will show what's available Wink
