Hi, I can't find the answer to this:

If I have a source which uses local metadata, nfo file and artwork etc, and I update those files, will a simple library scan pick up the changes? Or do I need to use something like the texture cache utility?

Not if the movie is already in the library. You need to use the Refresh option.
