Android Kodi won't run after new build
#1
Hi, I am in a situation where my Kodi box was failing to play any streams. So after trying clearing cache, and a few other clean ups, I thought it was because of the build level being 18.3...so I tried to upload to 19.5....and now it doesn't run at all.
I have no idea what to do now.
I could do with some advice please
Regards Chris

First thing is probably to post a debug log (wiki) showing your issue.  Be aware that if you're trying to stream content for free that you would normally expect to pay for, then no help will be forthcoming.  Otherwise, post the debug log (wiki) and we'll see what it shows.

If you read the link that was provided above it describes the advanced method if Kodi is unresponsive.

Or you could just clear Kodi data in the Android settings and start again. In future in is prudent to create regular backups of you installations using backup (wiki) methods the easiest of which being https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Backup

Use the Kodi Log Uploader add-on, that should work.

OK so you have looked at the logs but if you are unwilling to let others looks at the logs we are unable to assist you further.
Or have you been unable to produce or upload the log using the uploader?

There is nothing in the backups, and nothing in the Kodibak directory
There a re several versions of APK files in the download directory, but the only one that installs is
Kodi-19.5-matrix-armeabi-v7a.apk
.but when I open it, it starts to load, scroll bar across the bottom of the screen
Says clearing cache
Then preparing for first load
Then just goes blank and then reports Kodi has stopped, with no other options
No logs or backups, even though I made backups when on my older version
Wish I had never touched it at all now

Logs on Android will be in one of these places depending on your device:

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp/kodi.log
/data/org.xbmc.kodi/cache/temp/kodi.log
/sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp/kodi.log

Option to send a report with logs
So I have done so

We don't have a postbox for log files. I think you missed a step, where you give us here the internet URL/link that contains the log.

So I am using a remote where navigation on the Kodi box is very difficult. Also with more general web help, I have managed to download a file manager which has allowed me to show hidden files.
I now have visibility of a log file, but have no idea how to get the URL for linking. All I get when I look at the file is the drive data path, not the URL.
Also there is the log file, but no userdata folder after /.kodi
