Kodi Matrix 18.4 Invidious not working.
#1
Hey there,

I'm running a Raspberry pi 4 with 8 gb, raspbian and kodi on top. Here as described kodi 18.4. the standard repo allows me to install invidious... Unfortunately its not possible to search for any videos. It just gives me an arror to check my lof file for further information.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thx in advance Vlad :-)

kodi 18.4 is EOL and addons written for it would be using python 2, since versions 19 kodi uses python 3 which is incompatible therefor any addons made post 19 will not work with 18.4

as well it is unlikely any developers are wanting to support such an old addon

https://kodi.wiki/view/Releases

conversely python 2 is also EOL - https://kodi.wiki/view/General_informati...o_Python_3

and the github repo for invidious was archived April 30 2023 so it will not be getting updates from the developer in any case - https://github.com/TheAssassin/kodi-invidious-plugin

But on the site he writes:

Note: Currently, this plugin only works with Kodi 19 and newer. You can use the kodi-18 tag for version 18.

I got the app from the official repo.

Do you wanna tell me the verison is already old, wont get any updatea so i wont get it running?

Best
Vlad

Well the banner on that repo

This repository has been archived by the owner on Apr 30, 2023. It is now read-only.

would suggest that add-on is now completely dead with the author no longer working on it.

The Invidious add-on in the Kodi repos is no longer maintained, and the GitHub repo has since been archived.
I'd recommend installing the one by Lekma instead.

https://github.com/lekma/plugin.video.invidious

It's well maintained and has more features.

have you verified compatibility with kodi 18.4?

afaik kodi 18.4 ships with python v2.26 and according to the addon it needs 3.0.1 - https://github.com/lekma/plugin.video.in...don.xml#L8

Ahh, my bad. Thanks for catching that! I should've checked the versions properly.
Indeed, it won't work with Kodi 18.4 or Python 2.

To resolve the Invidious Search issue on Kodi running on Raspberry Pi, try updating the Invidious add-on or checking for any available add-on updates. If the issue persists, check the Kodi log file for error details.
