I'm looking to get an inexpensive streamer for a bedroom 1080p TV but need to make sure it does good HDR to SDR tonemapping for my 4K rips. I bought a Firestick 4K MAX and installed Kodi but HDR to SDR tonemapping is horrible and washed out. Tonemapping works great on the regular Firestick 4K but right now I can buy a Google Chromecast 4K for less than a Firestick 4K. How does the Chromecast 4K do with HDR to SDR tonemapping?

It doesnt do that at all afaik.
Apple TV does it the best but..
