Passthrough issues

Not really unfortunately. I get audio stutters after unpausing. Also the audio is a bit out of synch in general.

The previous build you sent worked better for me

Okay - was worth a try to find a compromise between the Shield and FireTV 4K stick. Reason: The version that I gave you yesterday night does not work at all on the Shield ... I think I will just remove the workaround for EAC3 ... TrueHD won't work on your system anyways.

Btw. to get another verification: https://jenkins.kodi.tv/view/Android/job...bi-v7a.apk <- still issues here or nearly as good as the one from yesterdays?

No audio issues after unpausing

Okay, https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/23687 change pending here. If agreed, will come into next v21 snapshot and backported as 20.3 - though it is currently unlikely that we will make a playstore release for 20.3 due to some requirement changes. But that is irrelevant on your FireTV as you install it via adb anyways.

Thanks again for testing.

Hello, I'm sorry for using this thread but I also have a passthrough issue with Kodi 21 Beta 2 version. I'm using a Ugoos Am8 box with an Amlogic s928x-j Soc. The dtshd passthrough doesn't work for me under Kodi 21.When I put it on raw Android it works but with sound skips. There is no sound at all on Kodi IEC.Everything works without problems under Kodi 20.2.Just wanted to share this, maybe I'll get lucky and the issue will be fixed by the time the final version is released

you might be the first to show up with one of these new SoCs
provide a Debug Log that shows some playback, at minimum fritsch may like to see under the hood of that device (i know i would)

Hi
I noticed that the dtshd passthrough also in the nightly version 20.3 isn't working. Installing 20.2 final it works, here is the log link
https://paste.kodi.tv/nonameqazo

Edit the log was created wit the version 20.3 nightly, but i think it is the same problem with the 21 beta2 version

And here is a dtshd working passthrough log file of kodi 20.2 final. If that matters

Your device opens with 170 ms buffer and does not consume a single package for 350 ms:

2024-01-10 12:40:21.600 T:14685 error <general>: Sink got stuck with 341.500000 ms - ask AE for reopening

Therefore kodi reopens the sink, cause it thinks that it is stuck.

In your "working" log:
2024-01-10 12:53:26.283 T:17614 debug <general>: ActiveAE::SyncStream - average error of 442.839141, start adjusting
You see that your device is already nearly half a second off. So, that was not really working, it just relied on kodi to fix it for the underlaying infrastructure.
I can only imagine that "your working case" was most likely constant interruptions on starting a new stream.

Try this: https://jenkins.kodi.tv/job/android-arm-...bi-v7a.apk - should work ™ as before

So is this a problem that I should contact the hardware manufacturer about?Luckily I still have a shield TV, but was curious about this Soc.Oh yes, with version 20.3 final no dtshd either. Many thanks for your response

Edit
Sorry, I only just read your post after I wrote it. I'll try the quick version

And also sorry for my bad English

Yes that version works.
Edit:
Is this something you can implement in the future? Or maybe you don't want to or can't?Or should I rather mention something about it in the manufacturer's Telegram channel?
