I wander if possible view live tv streams on my Apple TV with XBMC. I made a script using mplayer to play some streams and it works great, but I need to reboot the box every time I want to exit. I played mms:// and rtsp:// streams.
I think, with a right approach to play other types. I tryed Infinity script too with no luck. It just show me a list of countries that I can scroll, but noting more. No possibility to exit the script .
Is somebody else interested in this too?

Boxee is supposed to be a "spin-off" of XBMC that runs streaming content on Apple TV. That should answer your questions about AppleTV streaming content... The Infinity script works well for me if I want to watch select basic cable stations from countries around the world...

If you want to be entertained, might I suggest Navi-X Media Browser... http://www.navi-x.org it's a script that runs on XBMC for Xbox, Windows or Linux. I run the Adult Swim playlists on their and work on the website. Our good buddy "Turner3D" just made a website where people can add playlists themselves with an easy to use playlist creator. It also has a link checker so if your links go bad, they don't show up on your playlist automatically. We also have YouTube, StreamCast, Flickr, Podcasts, RSS feeds, mixtapes, tv episodes and some movies and music...it's pretty sick so check it out!

If you are uk based try my itvcatchup plugin it streams live uk tv channels.

It is possible to play the files via xbmc you need to make a .strm file.
